چکیده

Abstract In this study, the static bending behaviour of a size-dependent thick beam is considered including FGM (Functionally Graded Materials) effects. The presented theory further development and extension space-fractional (non-local) Euler–Bernoulli model (s-FEBB) to Timoshenko (s-FTB) one by proper taking into account shear deformation. Furthermore, detailed parametric study on influence length scale order fractional continua for different boundary conditions demonstrates, how non-locality affects response s-FTB model. differences in results between s-FEBB models are shown as well indicate when deformations need be considered. Finally, material parameter identification validation based SU-8 polymer microbeams confirm effectiveness

Thermal behavior analysis of the functionally graded Timoshenko\'s beam

The intention of this study is the analysis of thermal behavior of functionally graded beam (FGB). The distribution of material properties is imitated exponential function. For thermal loading the steady state of heat conduction with exponentially and hyperbolic variations through the thickness of FGB, is considered. With comparing of thermal behavior of both isotropic beam and FGB, it is appea...

Simulation of Simplified Computational Model of Jacket Structure with Timoshenko Cantilever Beam and Experimental Signature

Today many complex models, typically finite element models, have been employed in the analysis of jacket offshore structures. However, these comprehensive models are not readily adopted in engineering practice, especially during the preliminary design stage. As the dynamic analysis of jacket platforms is very complicated, it will be very advantageous to make a simplified computational method to...

An Approximate Solution of Functionally Graded Timoshenko Beam Using B-Spline Collocation Method

Collocation methods are popular in providing numerical approximations to complicated governing equations owing to their simplicity in implementation. However, point collocation methods have limitations regarding accuracy and have been modified upon with the application of B-spline approximations. The present study reports the stress and deformation behavior of shear deformable functionally grad...

Static and Dynamic Stability Analysis of a Sigmoid Functionally Graded Timoshenko Beam

Thisarticle presents the evaluation of static and dynamic behavior of simply supported sigmoid functionally graded ordinary (SFGO) beam. A finite element method is used considering first order shear deformation for the analysis. The element chosen in the present case is different from the conventional elements in the sense that the shape functions of the element is obtained from the exact soluti...
